Why it Matters?
The chronology is the working document a case team consults most often, and gaps or conflicts in it are frequently the case itself: a treatment gap, an incident report created after the fact, or testimony inconsistent with a contemporaneous record. Building it once with source citations avoids the common pattern where each new team member reconstructs it from scratch, and it is the input from which issue outlines and witness materials derive.
