San Mateo, CA, [October 26, 2026]. Turbo Law, the unified intelligent litigation workspace, today announced the appointment of Kimberly Sampson to its Advisory Board. Sampson will advise Turbo Law on privacy, data governance and responsible AI as more firms connect the platform to NetDocuments, iManage and the other systems that hold their matter files.

Litigation teams trust Turbo Law with their most sensitive material, from medical records and deposition transcripts to case strategy. How that data is governed matters as much as what the AI does with it, and clients now ask firms to show both before a matter goes anywhere near an AI tool. Turbo Law does not train on client data, isolates each customer environment and holds SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA compliance. Sampson’s appointment brings board-level guidance to that work as deployments grow from single case teams to entire firms.

Sampson is the founding Chief Privacy Officer at Hogan Lovells Cadwalader, where she built the firm’s first internal Global Privacy Office and chartered its first AI Ethics Committee. She also partnered with firm leadership to embed privacy-by-design and responsible AI principles into Eltemate, the firm’s legal technology subsidiary. Her work spans governance, AI ethics, privacy engineering and incident response across the US, UK, EU, APAC and LATAM.

Earlier in her career, Sampson was a founding leader of Deloitte’s first Global Data Protection Assessment Services team and advised Fortune 500 boards on GDPR readiness at Robert Half Legal. She holds a JD from the University of Maine School of Law, is MIT-certified in AI and Business Strategy, and is a Fellow of Information Privacy. In 2026 she speaks at the American Bar Association’s Professional Malpractice Conference on the ethical deployment of AI in legal practice.

“Getting the data governance layer right is what will separate the legal AI tools that scale from the ones that stall,” said Kimberly Sampson. “Turbo Law is one of the rare companies out there that started with security and privacy by foundation.”
