Why it Matters?
TIFF remains the default for most productions because endorsement, redaction, and page-level citation all work cleanly on images. Its cost is functionality: dynamic content, formulas, and hidden material do not survive conversion. The standard compromise is TIFF for most documents with native production for spreadsheets, presentations, and any file type where the image would lose substantive content.
